84th Ave over I-25 Bridge Replacement

Replace the existing structure that was originally built in 1959. The new bridge will be wider to accommodate an additional turn lane from eastbound 84th Ave to northbound I-25. In addition there will be 10-foot wide sidewalks on each side of the bridge to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety.

Look ahead to May 4th:

Zak Dirt is continuing to work on the final phase of the 84th Avenue Bridge. Crews are preparing to place the concrete deck scheduled for the end of April. Along with the structure work, crews are beginning to construct the southern roadway portion of 84th Avenue, which will include new paving and sidewalks. Motorists will also see the addition of concrete retaining walls underneath the bridge which will allow for future expansion of I-25. Please use caution while traveling through the site as traffic alignments change frequently.

Look ahead to February 28th:

Zak Dirt is getting ready to begin the last phase of bridge workon the 84th Ave Project. I-25 will be shutdown on Feb. 7th and 8th from 10:30 P.M. -5:30 A.M. for bridge removal. Crews will continue to work throughout the month on the final phase of the bridge as well as improvements to the roadway. Please use caution when traveling through the work zone as conditions change frequently.

Look ahead to December 19th - January 13th:

Zak Crews successfully completed the Phase II Bridge deck. In the coming weeks, crews will complete the approaches to the new bridge. East bound traffic on 84th is scheduled to be moved onto the new structure in mid January. Once traffic is switched over, Zak will begin work on the last phase of the project. Please use caution while traveling through the work zone, as traffic alignments change frequently.
