S.H. 30 (Havana Street) over Cherry Creek

Replacement of the existing bridge at Havana Street over Cherry Creek. Construction will be in three phases starting with the eastern most portion of the bridge. In addition 8’ wide sidewalks north and southbound will be constructed on the new bridge for pedestrian and bicycle safety.

Project Updates:

Look ahead to April 30th:

Zak is back at work at Havana after a winter shutdown. We will be milling Havana the first part of the week of April 23rd. Waterproofing and Paving will begin towards the end of that week finishing up the week of the 30th. Handrail on the bike path will be installed the week of the 23rd and the week of the 30th. Seeding and planting will take place the week of the 30th. The project will be completed at this time.

Look ahead to February 28th:

Crews on the Havana Bridge project are currently working on the east side of the project with improvement to the sidewalk and curb and gutter. Drainage work will also be completed on the east side. Crews will complete work in the next two weeks and the project will be suspended until Spring when Zak Dirt can complete the final paving on the project.

Look ahead to December 9th - December 31st:

The bridge expansion joints have been set in place, and we are currently forming the curb and gutter on the West side of Havana. These two items must be complete in order to pave the roadway to tie the newest portion of the bridge into Havana, tentatively set for December 16th. We plan to place the sidewalk and the bridge guardrail on the West side of the road in the next two weeks. The 24” Denver water line has been installed and pressure tested and will be tied into the existing line on December 10th.
